Sweet Tea

There's nothing like a refreshing glass of sweet tea on a hot day! Mmmm. I make a batch about 2x's a week. For all you tea lovers out there here's the recipe I swear by. 

Bring 5 cups of water to a boil. 

Add 1 cup of white sugar(when wanting a less sweet batch, I only add 3/4 cups). Give a little stir, allowing the sugar to dissolve completely. 

Remove from heat and add 4 tea bags(I use black tea). 

Let steep for a few minutes-the longer you steep, the stronger it will be. 

After steeping, remove tea bags. At this point I add a couple cups of water to dilute it a bit, while at the same time cooling it down quicker.

Pour over some ice with some lemon, sit back and enjoy!

Simple Knitted Dish Cloths

These little dish cloths are a perfect touch for the kitchen. They measure 4.5” x 4.5”, fitting just right in your hand for washing dishes with. Another plus, they air dry quickly…no more gross, mildewy cloths! 

A quick and easy knit up:

I used a 100% worsted weight cotton on size 3’s. These cloths are both knitted flat on dpn needles.

Cast on 32 stitches

For garter stitch cloth:
Knit flat, slipping the first stitch of every row. Knit until measures 4.5” from cast on edge.
Cast off all stitches. Weave in ends.

For seed stitch cloth:
Row 1:*K1P1, repeat from * to end of row. Turn your work. *If the stitch below is a knit stitch, you want to do the opposite, making a purl stitch, and so on.
Repeat Rows 1 until piece measures 4.5” from cast on edge
Cast off all stitches in stitch pattern. Weave in ends.

*Note: These cloths do stretch slightly, once they’re used.

Leg Warmer Slippers in Vanilla

We have a few jade plants around the house. They are one of my favorite succulents, and make such great house plants.  One of them has grown into a decent size over the past year. My plan is to nurture this guy to grow into a tree, like this one! Super excited about it. This means I have some reading to catch up on!
