The Little Joys

Hello everyone!! Goodness it has been awhile-My husband and I had a lovely couple weeks in Manitoba, visiting family, and attending a beautiful wedding. I have soooo many pictures, hehe...but will only share a few here today. :)

Little Joys of this Week>>>Or in this case, Little Joys of

the past few weeks!

*Spending quality time with family...which included lots of laughing.

*Getting to spend so much time around little ones...so blessed to have so many nieces and nephews.

*Getting to witness two very special people come together in the sacrament of marriage.

*The precious feeling of one of my nieces falling asleep in my lap in church---along with this precious feeling...getting to hold and sooth my newborn nephew.

*The darnest things kids say...hehe, like: "Akward!", with the most impeccable timing and tone.

*Picking...and eating, the most delicious raspberries on the planet!

*Conquering my fear of horses, by riding one for the first time-what a feeling I tell yah(riding a horse).

*Coming home to only a couple dead plants...so grateful for the couple that was generous enough to water our jungle while we were gone.

*Looking through the many photo's taken on our trip.

*Getting to travel back home with my hubby, without having to travel separate ways.

*There are much more little joys I experienced, but am going to keep some of those private. ;)

Happy Friday! xo

Happiest Birthday Little Sister!

I know, I know, I'm a day early. :P Tomorrow is my sister's birthday! She's going to be...well...I won't reveal that. Gosh we are getting old. I remember as a child, how excited I was when my sister came into the world. And then came the years of being the older, bossy sister. We had so much fun growing up! It was impossible for my sister and I to get bored-we always got creative with playing. From video store, to framing store, haha, it seemed we always picked some sort of 'job' role to imitate and called that playing. Oh, and can't forget the old, famous, turning our beds into space ships, and pretending our bedroom floor was lava-jumping from pillow to pillow(rock to rock), making sure not to fall in. Ah, the good ol' days.
Melissa, my beauty, I am so blessed to have you for a sister. You mean the world to me. Hope your birthday is full of awesomeness! I love you!

A Lovely Time with Loved Ones

A wonderful week it has been. Got to spend some time with my parent-in-laws, which was precious. It was sad to see them leave, but am so thankful for the lovely time we had.
I've been missing my family and friends a lot lately, especially my mom, dad, and my seester. Stephen and I don't have any family that lives nearby, so having his parents visit was extra nice. It was so nice to spend some time with loved ones.
Stephen and I are really looking forward to traveling in-land this summer, where we will get to see the whole Schoonbaert clan. I feel so blessed to have married into such an amazing, large family. Fun times!

My lovely mother-in-law and I taking a snowy stroll downtown Ottawa.

On the knitting end...I didn't get a lot of progress done this week, but have made some, and am back to work today. Happy Friday! :D

A Wonderful Day With My Ladies

Today I spent a beautiful day with my Mom and my sister. We went for lunch at this Polish place in town and the food was so fresh and delicious! Nothing beats fresh authentic cuisine!

After lunch we stopped in The Bee hive. They have some really unique neat stuff there! A great place for gift shopping, which by the way, my mom got this super cute gift for me! Thank you Mom!
Yes. It is an owl. It is made out of wax, and the best part...it glows!

I will have to share a photo of it glowing, once it gets dark out. I already know where I am going to want him in the future. He will be apart of my studio...once I have one, one day! :) Until then I think I may keep him on my dresser and be careful to make sure he doesn't melt!

To finish off the lovely day we of course couldn't go with out a good old Raspberry Lime Rickey from the Salem Willows! It's a summer classic around here. A Deeeeelicious one at that!
