Window Garden

Our little window garden is complete! Rosemary, oregano, thyme, sweet basil, hot peppers, and a mini hens and chicks succulent. Oh! And yesterday we adopted a new addition that isn't shown here, one of my favorites, lavender!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Wednesday!

Succulent Herbs

Rosemary, Oregano, and Thyme, basking in the sun. On Saturday we went looking for herbs, which were hard to come by, but found this bucket trio. It seemed to have been a little roughed up, so we've decided to hold off a week, before separating and potting them.
We strolled around the garden section at Home Depot, and found a few nice things. There was a bunch of strawberry plants! Stephen came up with the idea to have a windowsill box full them. Great idea, right! However, we came to find out that they weren't the crawling kind, so we are going to wait on the strawberries. We did find a couple more planters, in white and one in teal. It'll be all white with a pop of blue!
I'm a sucker for succulents...so, we came home with a little one-it's called 'Hens and Chicks'.
And, of course, I can't go a weekend without some knitting. I started a pair of hedgehog mitts in Wild Blackberry.

Happy Monday! :)

Tenticlese

So, my fiance and I did some planting today. We re-potted his 'Bird of Paradise' plant, which is so tall that it reaches the ceiling. When we removed it from it's pot this is what we found!!!

Haha. Check out the roots on this guy, a beast!

I am not sure if you can notice, but in the picture above there is the bottom of a plastic bag trapped from the roots growing around it.
I just had to share this with you guys. It's kind of gross, huh? Yet amazing at the same time! I think they look like alien fingers. My fiance mentioned how they remind him of something you'd see on 'Predators'.
As of now, this guy will be forever known as Tenticlese(named by my fiances room mate). :)
