Pom Poms

Pom, poms. Truly is an art form, at least I think so. Seriously. Last night, as I was watching different tutorial videos and trying my hand at making tiny pom poms, found myself quickly surrounded by little strands of yarn and fuzzys eeeverywhere. To say the least, I was having much trouble, and getting frustrated that I was wasting yarn and not able to make a proper, secure pom pom. With a little bit more practice and perseverance(I know...a little dramatic) and my husbands help(getting the center extra tight and secure), I had a few semi-perfect pom poms made. Not bad, hey? I am beginning to enjoy the process of making these tiny, fiber filled balls, wanting to make a ton! I especially like the 'hair cutting' part. Efficiency-wise, I may invest in a mini pom pom maker. Then I can really pump some out!

Hope all is enjoying their Easter weekend! Happy Easter! :D

Knitting Mt.Everest

It seems as though this piece is taking forever to finish. Must. keep. knitting. Almost there. I'm sure my sketching in-between rows isn't speeding up the process. :P
Just two more winter pieces after this one...spring/summer collection, here we come!

Doodling Knits

Knitting stitch by stitch, creating loop by loop, has inspired me to pick up the pencil and doodle. Gosh, it feels like a century since I've last worked with pencil. It feels good to get back into the swing of things with my illustrations. Hopefully I can keep it up while being busy with the knits.

Sunday Knitting

After a wonderful morning at Mass, relaxing knitting, and making carrot-ginger soup, is the only two things on my 'to-do' list today.

A Lovely Time with Loved Ones

A wonderful week it has been. Got to spend some time with my parent-in-laws, which was precious. It was sad to see them leave, but am so thankful for the lovely time we had.
I've been missing my family and friends a lot lately, especially my mom, dad, and my seester. Stephen and I don't have any family that lives nearby, so having his parents visit was extra nice. It was so nice to spend some time with loved ones.
Stephen and I are really looking forward to traveling in-land this summer, where we will get to see the whole Schoonbaert clan. I feel so blessed to have married into such an amazing, large family. Fun times!

My lovely mother-in-law and I taking a snowy stroll downtown Ottawa.

On the knitting end...I didn't get a lot of progress done this week, but have made some, and am back to work today. Happy Friday! :D

Spring Fever

The 'chipper-chapper' of birds chirping, a couple days of slightly warmer temperatures, the urge to re-organize and deep clean the home. Spring fever? I think yes. Oh, did I mention my parent in-laws are coming to visit next week, another good reason to get the place in tip-top shape.  ;) So excited to spend some time with them!

For now, Iv'e started on my studio space, moving the cubby unit up off the floor and onto my desk. That's right, dusty tumble weeds, no more making your homes in my cubby space!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

AHHHH!

AHHHH! That feeling...you get, when you have only a quarter left to go on your project, AND...you may just run out of the main colorway. I might have JUST enough to get me through the leggings, but there is that uncertainty that I may not. :S Wish me the best!

Happy Friday!

Moving Onward

Finished casting on for the next design that is going to be part of the fall/winter collection.
There is something about casting off a finished project, and casting on a new, that is very refreshing and daunting at the same time.

The New and Improved Waffle Mitts

The Waffle Mitts will be available in sizes, 1-2 yrs, 2-3 yrs, and possibly 3-4 yrs.

Happy Friday! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
