Save!

Well. That was a close one...I have 7 rows left on this guy, and my yarn ran short. Thank goodness I was able to get the same colorway sent to a local yarn shop! Phew...nervous break down averted, haha. She will be finished soon!

Hope everyone has been having a great spring...it feels so good to not have to bundle up to go outside. ;P I am getting psyched for visiting my family in a couple weeks! And getting to be back in my element---the beeeeeach! Yesssss.
Happy Saturday! xo

Much better, eh?

The Lion has Morphed

I struggled for a week or so on a decision regarding the lion smooshy. I so badly wanted to include the ruffle mane, but it was looking too much like a baby's bonnet. Needless to say, I was very unsatisfied with the result, and was not keen on settling with a different type of mane(I know, I know...I'm stubborn). I will be incorporating the lion smooshy in the Mini collection, as it will look much better.
So, the intended lion smooshy, I'm turning into an owl....am playing around with different faces...want to stay true to the smooshy-look....am thinking the beak is too big...what do you think?

Happy Friday! xo

Currently 'Clicking' Away

As much as I love neutrals, it's nice to be back working with color...especially these lovely muted ones. Every Smooshy that I make brings a new excitement of creativity, thinking of ways to make it as cute as it can be.

Life has been feeling a little less chaotic---falling into a groove of juggling everything....hehe, at least for now. Even if I'm only able to pick up the needles and knit one or two rounds before bed, as long as the ball is still rolling{pun not intended}, it's not a knitting-fail day.

What knit/crochet project are you currently juggling with?!

Hi!! Hope all is well with everyone!

As you can see, I still have work to do on this Smooshy. I usually save the face-making for last, but couldn't resist on this guy. ;) I now feel a little better about taking the time to secure all the bobbles, now that it has a face. From now on, all lamb/sheepy Smooshies will have knit-in bobbles...none of this separate bobble non-sense.

I sewed up the Mini Smooshy and wasn't pleased with the overall shaping.....modifications here I come, at a slug-like speed.

I want to thank each and every one of you for all your love and support for my blog and work. I couldn't keep it all going without you. xo

Slow Moving...I Just Want to Knit

It's been a busy couple weeks, and it's about to get even busier over the next week and a half or so. I've got to take advantage of the spare time that I have-this guy is slow moving, but getting there. I've learned a valuable lesson...knit the bobbles in with the fabric, rather than knitting them separately and having to attach them--tediously painful. I thought by knitting them separately and attaching them was going to give a more clean, flawless look...wrong. Oh. Have I mentioned I don't care for sewing?

Hope you are enjoying your week! xo

Learning to Juggle

Hi! It feels like forever since my last post! With transitioning into some new changes, it's resulted in some temporary jumbled-ness. They are good changes. :)
After a long year of not working I am back to it! It feels great! I am so grateful to God for opening up such a door of opportunity. God is good. We also got a brand new car-yippee

So we are almost getting into the swing-of-things. I have to admit, I have barely touched my knitting since I started work(knitted a few bobbles here and there). Once I adjust to my normal work schedule, I will learn to juggle my knitting...and focus on setting up the Etsy shop soon!!

Check out the sweater colour combination for my next Smooshy. Any ideas of what it's going to be?

Bobbles by the Dozen

This Smooshy is requiring a bit of bobble making. Not sure yet how many bobbles I'll be making for this guy, I will be sure to let you know! xo

A New Smooshy

After some experimenting, I have decided to settle with these new knit buttons for the Smooshys. I find it is a more polished look than the ones I was knitting-in with the fabric. I have to say, I think this is my favourite Smooshy yet...and no, not because it's pink. ;) I can see a little girl loving this Smooshy to pieces.

This Little Pig came all the way to Canada

Isn't she adorable?! I've given her the name, Isabella. She is a gift from my sister, lovingly handmade by Regina from  Oh, albatross. Carefully hand-sewn with great attention to detail, her work is a lovely mix of vintage and whimsical.

I love how thoughtful she is with her packaging- adding little odds and ends.
Upon opening the package, Isabella was wrapped in a vintage sewing pattern. Also in the box was a couple of BINGO cards, along with a couple of definition tabs(I'm not sure what they are called), an old photo( I think it's two young men sitting in front of a school? Or maybe a library? I like the mysteriousness of it...see the squirrel? I presume, is eating an afternoon snack, hehe.), and a note from my sister, hand written by Regina on an old library index card.

So, if you love vintage items, and have a spot in your heart for high-quality handmade stuffed animals, I highly recommend checking out Regina's shop on Etsy. You can also find her blog here, which is full of such clever cuteness, and eye candy photos.

Okay, now I have to rave about Isabella. First off...she's pink. Although I am a person of neutrals and muted colors, I'm in fact, a secret lover of the color pink. Oh, and boy is she pink, eh? I love it. She adds a nice pop to all the neutrals around me. Don't you just adore her dainty tail? And her lovely scarf...and that snout. She adds happiness to my work space. I can't help but smile when I look at her.

Thank you Melissa!

Tuesday's Dose of Nostalgia

Growing up, 'Fantasia' was one of those movies that I loved putting on all the time, even if it was just for the company. Haha...I think the fascination with this specific scene, was the reason for me possessing one of those fiber optic flower lamps

Work in Progress

Can you guess what type of animal this Smooshy is going to be?

Happy New Year! and a Smooshy

The most crucial part of a Smooshy construction...the face-a part that I fully enjoy. It's the moment when the Smooshy takes on a personality of it's own.

Okay, hold on a minute...I just realized that this is my first post of the New Year, 2014! Wooooooo! I apologize that this post is a little lame, and not very fitting for the Holiday. :P  I wanted to post this yesterday, but didn't get a chance...well, it looks like I'm bringing in the New Year, a bang...a bang of Smooshy's that is.

Cheers to 2014! xo
